Social: We are starting this week with chapter 5, The Rise of Christianity. Because of the proposed rocket launch next week on October 6th, the social test will be on October 8th. Be sure to ask your son or daughter if they have reread the chapter and answered the appropriate questions.
Science: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help construct the rockets Wednesday and Friday 8:45-10:10am, contact me, Mrs. Swanson if you can help. If you have not donated $5.00 yet for your child's rocket please do so if possible. If you could donate additional money toward the project that would be great. So far I have received $100 to pay for the rockets, the total cost of this project is about $300. THANK YOU to those parents who have contributed. Rocket launch date is now Tuesday, October 6th starting at 9:00am unless is rains.
Language Arts: We are on lesson 7 in spelling and are adding endings to verbs to change the tense. A reminder about nouns, adjectives, verbs, and other grammar rules would be a good thing to go over at home. We have starting our poetry unit and the students have been responding to poetry. They have learned how to write a cinquan and will also learn about metaphor/simile poems. Don't forget the unit will end with a wonderful coffee house for friends and relatives.
